I am an Electronic Engineer specialising in the end-to-end development of industrial IoT systems and data pipelines. I recently completed my PhD in Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University, where my research focused on deploying long-term remote LoRaWAN sensing networks for air quality measurement.
My engineering philosophy centres on full-lifecycle product development. My expertise spans from PCB design and power management to embedded firmware, data pipeline architecture, and statistical analysis. I am deeply interested in building robust, low-power IoT solutions and extracting actionable insights from the data they generate.
Beyond hardware and firmware, I am an active contributor to open-source software, including algorithm enhancements for the Python mathematical library SALib.
Core Competencies
- Hardware & PCB Design: Altium, KiCad, schematic capture, component selection, and power rollout management.
- Firmware & IoT: C/C++, ESP32, LoRa/LoRaWAN, sensor integration, and remote deployment.
- Data & Analytics: Python, data cleaning pipelines, statistical modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
